Group Exercise

 

Abtastic: Strong abdominals elicit better balance and stability, ultimately giving your body a better, stronger base. Various exercises like crunches, planks, push-ups, bicycles, lat rows, and more, prompt your body toward a strong core. Classes are held on Mondays/Wednesdays at 5 pm.

Barre Above: This class fuses the very best of ballet, pilates, yoga, aerobics, and strength training. Using light weights and completing high reps that will strengthen and tone your body. No dance experience is necessary. All fitness levels are welcome! The class is held on Fridays at 9 am.

Cardio Mix: Just getting started or need to return to the gym? Cardio mix is the perfect beginning. Easy to learn routines and functional moves that help gain movement, improve brain function, and build a strong heart. Classes are held on Tuesdays/Thursdays at 8 AM.

Fit Club: Hit the weights, hit the stairs, hit the machines. Each class is unique with one common goal; to give you a great all around, challenging workout. Change in your routine is always good and this program will keep you going. Classes on held on Mondays/Thursdays at 1:30 PM.

Power Pump: Train your body for a lifetime of strength and stability using a variety of techniques and equipment. This highly efficient, full-body workout is just what you need to define and strengthen your muscles. Classes are held on Monday/Wednesday/Friday mornings at 5 AM and on Tuesdays/Thursdays at 5 PM.
 
Rise N Grind: This class is held down at the Dixon Riverfront, you will get in cardio, strength conditioning, and core exercises. Classes start in June! Classes will be held on Tuesdays/Thursdays at 6 AM.
 
Rock Your Body:  This high-energy dance cardio workout is perfect for all fitness levels and is sure to have you singing along to your favorite hits from the 80s, 90s, and today! This class will incorporate dance, cardio, body weight exercises, and yoga. Classes are held on Tuesdays/Thursdays at 6 PM.
 
SilverSneakers: This CLASSIC program is designed to increase muscle strength, and range of movement and improve activities for daily living. A chair is used for seated exercises and standing support. The class can be modified depending on fitness levels. To participate you must be a SilverSneakers member through your insurance and registered at the front desk as such. Please reach out to our fitness director for availability, at katie@dixonymca.org. Classes are held on Mondays/Fridays at 10 AM & 11 AM.
 

Studio Kickboxing: Join Kayla for an energizing, high-intensity workout. An awesome non-contact workout! The class combines martial art techniques with fast pace cardio. Burn calories, build stamina, and improve coordination and flexibility all while increasing your concentration. Classes are held on Mondays/Wednesdays at 5:45 PM.

Stretch Therapy: Dim lights, and soft, soothing music are conducive to a tranquil environment perfect to improve the body’s flexibility. These stretches, done regularly, will help maintain posture, protect joint function, and improves stress relief. The class targets major muscle groups through both static stretching (holding a position) and dynamic stretching (moving through a range of motions). A must for all ages! The class is held on Mondays at 9:05 AM.

Strength & Stretch: This class focuses on flexibility, range of motion, balance, and strength. Beginning with a 20-minute relaxation breathing and stretch therapy followed by 20 minutes of upper body strength training using a variety of equipment. Then finishing with 20 minutes of relaxation, breathing, stretch therapy, and balance training. All levels are welcome. Classes are held on Tuesdays/Thursdays at 9:05 AM.

Strength Basics: A total body workout for muscle building and toning for strength. This class will include weights, kettlebells, bands, and exercise balls; including tempered plyometrics, high-intensity, low-intensity, and work to build muscle and strength. The class is held on Wednesdays at 9 AM.

Yoga: Gentle flow combines a series of postures, where with a gentler, lighter-paced flow, members will be able to move with a sense of ease from one posture to another, coordinated with the breath. This softer pace will allow you to be more present with each posture. Designed to create a space to explore your practice, to find the play between strength, and stretch. and flexibility, stability, and ease, and to gain a greater understanding of alignment and balance in the body. Classes are held on Wednesdays/Fridays at 8 AM.
